Hey Everyone,

It’s been a busy week and one that has left me writing this email on Saturday afternoon amidst the lovely scent of roast fowl. Currently, I’m roasting two turkeys for tomorrow’s Trail Hiker Meal–Thanksgiving in July. Last week we had 26 hikers and we’re expected to have more this week. Consider joining us tomorrow night for this wonderful ministry. 🙂

With everything going on right now, I hope that you’re all safe and dry. Last night, we played host at the Annex to a group of folks who were stranded by the mud slides on 149. Between our budding hiker ministry and these folks seeking a place of refuge, I’ve been contemplating the both the majesty of God’s provision in our lives and our grateful response. I’ll share more tomorrow morning. 😉

Speaking of tomorrow morning, given the forecast, we’ll plan on meeting inside the sanctuary and on Zoom. We will also be having fellowship in Darley Hall directly following the service. Trail Hiker Meal
Sunday, July 25th is our third Trail Hikers Meal. Join the churches of Lake City in welcoming the hikers from 6-8pm in the Annex for Thanksgiving in July. If you’re planning on joining us, please bring your favorite savory thanksgiving side (for 8-10 people) to share. 

Games Up Here
On Monday, July 26th from 7:00-8:00pm, we’ll kick off the evening playing a group roll and write game led by Lyn Lampert. Join us in person at the Annex (this week only). 

Tea Time Tuesday
Tea Time is cancelled for this week, but you’re welcome to come a few minutes early to the Summer Book Club and fellowship over some self-made tea. 🙂

Summer Book Club
The CPC Summer Book Club will delve into the first chapter  of Living Faithfully in a Fragmented World this Tuesday, July 27th from 4:00 to 5:00pm in the Annex. 

Bible Study
Join us for our weekly Bible Study as we look at  the Gospel of Mark. We’re meeting at our usual time on Wednesday, July 28th from 5:00-6:30pm. The Zoom link and YouTube link (for past weeks) are on our website (and up-to-date).

Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Gather with the men of Lake City this Thursday, July 29th at 7:00am MST in Darley Hall for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast.

Hey All…

Given the weather, Tea Time Tuesday will be in the Presbyterian Annex (418 Silver) from 2:00pm until 4:00pm MDT. Today’s tea is an iced Matacha Tea, sweetened with homemade vanilla syrup (available with and without milk). If that doesn’t suit your tastes, we’ve got a lovely selection of regular and herbal teas.

We’ll also be meeting in the Annex at 4:00pm MDT for the beginning of our Summer Book Club. All are welcome (even if you’re not reading the book).

I hope you’re all well on this cloudy Friday afternoon. We’ve got a great week ahead of us with the start of our CPC Summer Book Club. There are still a few copies if you want to participate.

Given the current cases of COVID in town, we’re still meeting outside on the lawn at 10:00am (unless it’s raining… check the website 30 minutes before the start of the service). Zoom will be available as usual and the link is below.  

Sunday’s preaching text is from Ephesians 2:11-22, where we’ll explore the unique nature of a new humanity. You can read the preaching passage and the other lectionary texts here.

Sunday, July 18th is our second Trail Hikers Meal. Join the churches and community of Lake City in welcoming the hikers from 6-8pm in the Annex for some gourmet hotdogs. Don’t forget to bring a side or dessert for 8-10 people to share, if you’re able.

On Monday, July 19th from 7:00-8:00pm, we’re playing another round of GARDEN DICE. Join us in person at the Annex and on Zoom (by request: 206-962-9886). 

Tea Time Tuesday
Join us this Tuesday, July 20th from 2-4pm for Tea Time Tuesday on the lawn. This week’s featured tea will be iced Matcha–the ceremonial green tea from Japan. 

Summer Book Club
The CPC Summer Book Club will begin its 7-week dive into the book, Living Faithfully in a Fragmented World, this Tuesday, July 20th at 4:00pm in the CPC Yard or at the Annex (wherever TTT is). It will also be available by Zoom. There are still a few copies left in Darley Hall.

Given the wet weather we’re having, we’re moving Tea Time Tuesday to the Presbyterian Annex (418 Silver). We’re also switching the featured tea to an herbal Mediterranean Sobremesa–a rich blend of Lemon verbena, Peppermint, and Licorice. If that doesn’t suit your taste, pick your own from our collection of teas. Join us from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Annex.

I know, I know… this is a late correspondence–but one that I want to make sure you get before tomorrow’s worship service. As many of you know, my family arrived on Wednesday and I took a couple of days off this past week. Tomorrow morning, Sunday, July 11th, we’ll gather on the lawn of CPC for our 10am Worship Service. Tomorrow’s preaching text will be from Ephesians 1:3-14. You can read it and the other preaching texts here.

Tea Time Tuesday

This Wednesday, July 14th the CPC Session will meet at 10:00am in the Annex.

We return to our weekly Bible Study this week for an Introduction to the New Testament on July 14th. We’ll meet at the Annex from 5:00-6:30pm. 

Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Gather with the men of Lake City this Thursday, July 15th at 7:00am MST in the Baptist Fellowship Hall for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. 

Mark Twain is Coming to Lake City!
Come marvel at the talent in our faith community and show support to our very own Jim Walker as he performs his one-person show Mark Twain. There are performances on Friday and Saturday night, July 16th and 17th, at the Moseley Arts Center in the Mary Stigall Theater. The shows starts at 7:30 PM.
