Hey Everyone,

I trust you are all well and feeling the blessedness of this Eastertide. The weather is so warm and the buds are starting to pop up on the trees here in Lake City. Before we know it, summer folks will be returning and hikers will be making their way down the mountain.

If you haven’t driven by the church this week, I’d encourage you to stick your head in the CPC sanctuary, as it’s getting a facelift. While still preserving the historic wall paper, the rest of the space is getting a fresh coat of paint. If all goes as planned, the painting should be done by Saturday at the latest. I hope to see you for our Lord’s Day Worship Service this coming Sunday, April 26th, at 10:00am in our newly painted sanctuary. Then, we can all head into our newly floored Darley Hall for our return to after service fellowship.

Next week, our regular programming is back on for a few weeks. Join us Monday, April 27th for another play-filled gathering at Games Up Here from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in Darley Hall.

Then, on Wednesday, April 29th, we’ll join together for our second session of “Stuff Every Christian Should Know” series in the Annex/Trail Hiker Center. Then class starts at 5:00pm and everyone is welcome.

Hey Folks,

I hope this post finds you all well and in good spirits on this lovely sunny afternoon in Lake City. I also hope all of you were more timely than I was at getting your taxes in this year. There’s nothing like a last minute rush to file taxes to make you feel overwhelmed and incompetent (especially when you’re filing two additional taxes for your deceased parent).

Nonetheless, I’m excited that tonight, Wednesday, April 15th, we’ll be launching our new Bible study series: Stuff Every Christian Should Know. Join us at 5:00pm in the Annex/Trail Hiker Center for the series overview. If you can’t make it tonight, you call always catch the sessions on our YouTube channel.

As many of you know, I’ll be departing tomorrow afternoon to head to Chicago to officiate my great uncle’s funeral service. To that end, I won’t be with you all on Sunday, but our dear friend and local pastor Lyn Lampert will be preaching and leading you in our Lord’s Day Worship this Sunday, April 19th. The service starts at 10:00am and will also be available on Zoom (link below).

Just a reminder that there will be NO fellowship this Sunday after the service because we’re actively having our new floors installed in Darley. Feel free to pop in and see the progress.

Next week, we WILL be having Games Up Here on Monday, April 20th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Annex/Trail Hiker Center. Come on out and join us for some tabletop games. No experience necessary. We will NOT be gathering for the Bible Study on Wednesday, April 22nd next week, but we’ll return to our study on Wednesday, April 29th.

I hope you are all well and enjoying the blessedness of the Easter Octave. Don’t forget that every night this week you should be celebrating with some good food and drinks. 🙂

This coming Sunday, April 12th, will be the Second Sunday of Eastertide and we’ll gather at 10:00am for our Lord’s Day Worship in the CPC sanctuary. We will be having fellowship this week, but it might be the last one for a couple of weeks seeing as though the renovation work will continue in Darley Hall on the 13th.

This coming week, we won’t be having games on Monday, as I’ll be in Montrose working with the board of X Lazy F Ranch–the camp and conference center owned by the Presbyterian of Western Colorado. I will, however, be back for our weekly Bible Study on Wednesday evening at 5:00pm. Join us this Wednesday, April 15th as we begin our first session of “Stuff Every Christian Should Know.” I’ll be saying more about this on Sunday, but essentially we’ll be covering material that I think every Christian should have some basic understanding.

I hope this post finds you in a place of joyful anticipation as we all look toward our celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection during our Lord’s Day Worship service tomorrow, Sunday, April 5th at 10:00am in the CPC sanctuary and online (links below). 

Sunday Worship
During tomorrow’s Easter Worship Service, we’ll be celebrating communion, so please remember to bring your communion elements to the broadcast if you’re joining us online. In addition to celebrating the Eucharist, we’ll also be confirming Silas and ordaining and installing Sharon Rogers as a ruling elder. What a blessed day it will be. 

We’ll also be having a special time of fellowship directly following the service to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, the confirmation, and the ordination/installation. Join us for crème puffs, mini éclairs, coffee, and juice. 

The Week Ahead
We WILL be having games on Monday night, April 6th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in Darley Hall, but we WON’T be having our Wednesday night Bible Study, as I begin preparation for our upcoming series–Stuff Every Christian Should Know!
