Good morning CPC!
I hope you are healthy and safe on this sunny Saturday morning. I’ve got a number of important updates for you today, so please read the following carefully. First, it is with great sadness that I share with you that Adolph Assenheimer died of a stroke this past Sunday. Let us keep George and Patricia in our prayers. Let’s also keep in our prayers Bruce Heath and Pat Stone who are both hospitalized and facing serious health issues.
Tomorrow is the second Sunday of Advent, where we’ll light the Candle of Peace. Directly following the service we’ll have a very short Congregational Meeting, during which we’ll vote on our new slate of elders. Tomorrow’s preaching text comes from Philippians 1:3-11. You can find that text and the other lectionary passages here.
Although the first Sunday of the month is typically the day we celebrate the Lord’s Supper and hold our monthly potluck, the session has decided to postpone both one week. There will also be no fellowship after worship tomorrow, but please plan on staying for the congregational meeting.
Here are your announcements for the week!
Games Up Here
No games this week.
Weekly Bible Study
Join us on Zoom this Wednesday, December 8th from 5:00-6:30pm MST as we explore the book of Ephesians. The Zoom link can be found in your weekly email or on our website.
Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Gather with the men of Lake City this Thursday, December 9th at 7:00am in the Baptist Fellowship Hall.
Interested in a purple and pink liturgical scarf, but you missed the open painting times? You can still schedule a paint session by emailing Jason.
Don’t run off after service on Sunday, even if you’re joining by Zoom. Directly after worship we’ll hold a congregational meeting to vote on the new slate of elders. Your elder nominees are Ken Nall and Celeste Scott for three year terms and P. David Smith for a one year term.
Given the current state of health, we’ve decided to postpone our first-Sunday-of-the-month potluck to the second Sunday. Join us next week for a potluck brunch directly after the service.
And, here are your links for the week!
