Third Sunday of Lent

Hey Everyone!

Good evening and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope that you were all wearing some green today and remembering the significance of the Irish people for the Christian faith. For those who don’t know, the Irish played a critical role in preserving sacred documents from devastation brought on by the Hun invasions (and other Germanic tribes), culminating in the fall of the Roman Empire.

This Sunday, March 20th we continue on our journey with the third Sunday of Lent. Celeste will be back (hurrah), and the preaching text for Sunday is Luke 13:1-9. You can find it and the other lectionary texts here.

Beyond those updates, don’t forget that from 9-12 tomorrow, Friday, March 18th, I’ll be hosting an open scarf session at the Annex.

Games Up Here
Monday night games are happening this week! Join us tomorrow night, March 21st at the Annex at 7:00pm for tabletop games. If you’d like to join us via Zoom, text or email Jason.

Mid-Week Prayers
Join us this coming Wednesday, March 23rd for our Lenten mid-week. Every Wednesday during Lent, all are invited to participate in a 25-30 minute time of prayer using the TaizĂ© chants. The service will be in the sanctuary and will begin promptly at 12:00pm (Noon). 

Wednesday Bible Study
Join us on Zoom this Wednesday, March 23rd from 5:00-6:30pm as we look at 1 & 2 Peter. The Zoom link can be found on our website and in Jason’s weekly email.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Join the men of Lake City this Thursday, March 24th at 7:00am for good food, prayer, and Bible study.
