Hey Everyone,

I hope you’re all well on this warm Tuesday evening. I’m getting next week’s information to you sooner in the week than normal since I’ve got a busy week ahead of me. Don’t forget that tomorrow night, Wednesday, February 26th our weekly Bible study is returning at its usual time and place (5:00pm in Darley Hall). This week we’ll be starting a new series on the Beatitudes. Hopefully we’ll see you then.

This Sunday, March 1st, will be the Second Sunday of Lent and we’ll be celebrating Communion. So if you’re joining us via Zoom, please consider bringing your own communion elements to the broadcast. As usual the link for the service and the order of worship can be found below. After the service, we’ll be having our First-Sunday-of-the-Month potluck in the theme of St. Patrick’s Day. I know, I know, it’s a couple weeks early, but it’s always enjoyable to tuck into some delicious Irish fare. And, as you know, you’re always welcome to bring whatever you like.

Next Monday, March 2nd, we’ll be having our weekly game night–Games Up Here. Join us for some tabletop games from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in Darley Hall.

Next week, the CPC elders will also be gathering for our March Session meeting at 10:00am in Darley Hall on Wednesday, March 4th. If you need to touch base with an elder for anything, please do so before next Wednesday.

Then, that same night, Wednesday, March 4th, we’ll gather for the second session of our series on the Beatitudes. Join us at 5:00pm in Darley Hall for this important study.

Finally, I’m excited to announce that we’ll be holding our first ever winter tabletop game retreat on Saturday, March 7th. That’s right we’re having a one day gaming retreat from 9:00am until the last game of the night. More information to follow about this special gathering.

Hey Everyone,

I hope you’re all well and moving into this season of Lent with the help of the Holy Spirit. It’s a snowy Friday afternoon in Lake City and it seems we’re finally getting our winter snow–better late than never.

This Sunday, February 22nd, is the First Sunday of Lent for this liturgical season and we’ll be exploring the wilderness temptation narrative in the Gospel of Matthew. Join us this Sunday at 10:00am in the CPC sanctuary for our Lord’s Day Worship Service. As usual, fellowship will follow with cookies and coffee.

This week, we’ve got our usual line up with Game Up Here on Monday night, February 23rd from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in Darley Hall. We’ll also be returning to our weekly Bible study on Wednesday, February 25th. Join us at 5:00pm in Darley Hall as we begin our new series on the Beatitudes.

Hey Everyone!

One final Epiphany greeting to you all. I hope this holy season has been a season of light in your lives and home. This Sunday is the Sixth and final Sunday of Epiphany, which means the season of Lent is just around the corner.

This Sunday, February 15th is also Transfiguration Sunday, the special holy day when we remember God’s illuminating presence among us in a supernatural way. Join us at 10:00am this Sunday for our Lord’s Day Worship Service in person and online (links below). Directly after the service, we’ll gather for fellowship in Darley Hall for cookies and coffee.

This year’s Lenten season begins next week on Wednesday, February 18th. Please plan on joining us for our Ash Wednesday service with Taizé Prayers and the imposition of ashes on that Wednesday at noon in the CPC sanctuary.

We will be having Games Up Here this coming Monday night, February 16th from 7:00pm until 9:00pm in Darley Hall. All are welcome!

There will be NO Bible Study this coming week, but plan on joining us for our Ash Wednesday service at 12:00pm that day.

If you’re a voting member of Community Presbyterian Church, don’t forget that we’re having our annual Congregational Meeting directly after the Sunday morning Lord’s Day Service on February 22nd. We’ll be voting on our 2026 budget, my terms of call, and I’ll be sharing about our plans for the 150th anniversary celebration of Community Presbyterian Church. Trust me, this is one congregational meeting you don’t want to miss.

Hey Folks!

I hope you are well and still feeling the blessedness of the Epiphany season.

We’ll be out of town for my uncle’s funeral in Detroit this weekend, but you’ll all be please to know that Lyn Lampert will be our guest preacher and worship leader. Our Lord’s Day Worship Service begins at 10:00am this Sunday, February 8th. A time of fellowship will follow immediately after the service with cookies and coffee.
