Hey Everyone!
Well, it’s hard to believe that we are wrapping up our 150th Anniversary Celebration this Sunday. Tonight, Thursday, August 27th, we’re gathering for our final event in our Season of Celebration. Join us in the CPC sanctuary for a special Gospel Concert featuring the Hunny B’s Rhapsody. The concert starts at 7:00pm and seating is limited, so don’t be late!
Sunday Worship
This Sunday, August 30th will be our final celebration service for the 150th Anniversary Season of Celebration. We’ll have special guests from the Presbytery of Western Colorado and The Colorado Trail Foundation. We’ll also be taking a congregation picture in front of the church directly after the service. We’ll then all bring the celebration into Darley Hall as we have a special time of fellowship with sparkling drinks, coffee with whipped cream, and apple tarts.
Call for Apple Tarts!
You might be wondering why we’re celebrating with coffee with whipped cream and apple tarts. Well, this is what they served at the first house warming gathering after dedicating the manse. We have no idea what type of apple tarts they served, so we’re asking all of you, if you are able, to bring a dozen or two apple tarts for our special time of fellowship.
Trail Hiker Center
This Sunday, August 30th will be our eight and last trail hiker dinner of the season! This week the theme is Oktoberfest and we’ll be serving up brats and hot sauerkraut. Feel free to bring any dish your heart desires, or make something in the theme of European/German/Oktoberfest. The meal starts at 5:30pm and for this final dinner, the executive director of the Colorado Trail Foundation, Paul Talley, will be joining us!
Just a reminder, that the Trail Hiker Center doesn’t close until September 30th, and the shuttle runs until September 15th, so we’ll still need plenty of help. Sign up for hosting shifts in Darley Hall or see Jason for information about becoming a THC Shuttle Driver.
Saying Goodbye
This Sunday, we’ll be saying goodbye to our wonderful summer THC staff, Chloe Pittard. She’s managed the Trail Hiker Center for the past eleven weeks, she preached twice, and has helped make our season of service run that much smoother. Thank you Chloe for all your hard work this season.
The Week Ahead
Next week, we’ll carry on with our weekly gatherings. Monday, August 31st, we’ll gather from 7:00pm to 9:00pm for our weekly game night–Games Up Here. Then, on Wednesday, September 2nd, we’ll continue with our 16th session of Stuff Every Christian Should Know series. Next week, we’ll be exploring the second half of the Medieval period (1054-1517).
That’s it for this week folks. Hope to see you all soon. Here are your links for the week ahead.
