With the likelihood of rain, we’re moving today’s Tuesday Tea Time to the Annex on 418 Silver Street. Join us from 2-4pm for hot tea of your choice. We’ll be featuring a Japanese Twig Green Tea today, served hot or cold.

I hope you’re all keeping warm on this chilly Saturday morning. The weather has definitely taken an unexpected turn, but I’m sure we’re all thankful for the rain.
Given the current wetness and cooler temperatures, however, we’re going to hold tomorrow’s Sunday Worship Service inside. We’re still meeting at 10:00am, just in the sanctuary. Zoom will be available as usual and the link is below. Tomorrow’s preaching text is from Lamentations 3:22-33, where we’ll explore the depths of God’s mercies. I’ve also got some sad news to share. This past Monday, June 21st, Martha Stevens died in her home in Wichita, Kansas. For those who may not know, Martha was a former Lake City summer resident who attended CPC. We hold the Stevens family in our prayers this week.

Join us this Tuesday, June 29th from 2-4pm for Tea Time Tuesday on the lawn. This week’s featured iced tea will be Japanese Twig Tea.
NO Bible Study this Week
We’re taking a week off for our Wednesday night Bible study. We’ll return on July 7th with an introduction to the New Testament.

4th of July Worship Service
Next Sunday is our Lake City Community Worship Service on the 4th of July. The community service will held on the soccer field at 9:00am. Please bring your own chairs. Restrooms will be available at the Medical Center.

Hey Everyone!
I hope you’re all well on this cloudy Friday afternoon. This Sunday at the 10:00am worship service (on the lawn), we’ll turn to the book of Job as we consider the majesty of God’s creation and our understanding of it. You can find both this week’s passage and the other lectionary texts here.
Also, tomorrow morning’s CPC Work Day, will still take place from 9:00am to 12:00pm, but instead of working on the church grounds, we’ll be helping move stuff for Lynn Hudgeons. It will mostly be boxes, so please bring a hand carts and pickup trucks if you have them. Meet at the front of the church at 9:00am. If there is time after, we can always weed the front of the church! Hurrah for weeding. 🙂

Bible Study this Week
Join us for Bible study on Wednesday June 23rd from 5:00pm to 6:30pm, as we finish off the Old Testament with an OT summary. Even if you haven’t been a part of a single Bible study this past year, this will be a good overview of the Old Testament for all. We’ll meet in person in the Annex and on Zoom (links on the website).

Happy Friday Everyone!
It looks like we have a beautiful weekend ahead of us, which is perfect because we’re moving our Sunday Worship OUTSIDE! That’s right, this Sunday, June 13th at 10:00am, we’ll start our summer outdoor services on the CPC lawn (at 10:00am). If you have lawn chairs that you prefer to sit on, bring them along, or sit on one of our deluxe padded folding chairs. A time of coffee and fellowship will follow the 10 o’clock service.
This week’s preaching text is 2 Corinthians 5:6-17. You can read it and the other lectionary texts listed in the order of worship here.

Tea Time Tuesday
Join us this Tuesday, June 15th from 2-4pm when Tea Time Tuesday moves to the CPC lawn (by the columbarium.) This week’s iced tea will be rooibos, the South African red bush tea, and it will be served with rusk, a buttermilk biscotti style biscuit cookie.
Bible Study this Week
Join us for our weekly Bible study on Wednesday June 16th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm, as we finish off the last two books of the Bible–Zechariah and Malachi. We’ll meet on Zoom and in the CPC sanctuary.

It’s Friday and it’s a beautiful afternoon in Lake City. I hope you’re all well and in good spirits.
Tomorrow Saturday, June 5th is our next CPC Work Day. We’ll meet at the Annex to put up the final garden bed! If there are enough people, we’ll also spruce up the front of the sanctuary. Join us tomorrow morning from 9:00am until 12:00pm. Coffee and some measure of breakfast baking will be available. 🙂
This Sunday, June 6th is the first Lord’s Day worship of the Ordinal Season, in which our colors turn to green. We will also celebrate the Eucharist at the service, so if you’re joining us via Zoom, please bring your own elements to the gathering. This week’s preaching text is from 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1 and the sermon is titled Not Seeing is Believing. To read this text and the other lectionary passages click here.

Tea Time Tuesday!
That’s right, it’s time for Tea Time Tuesday. It starts this week on Tuesday, June 8th from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. us at the Annex as we begin THE SUMMER OF TEA. Tuesday will also start our official Mugging. Donate your second or third favorite mug to our little supply of hot beverage mugs.
CPC June Session
This coming Wednesday, June 9th, we’ll have the CPC June Session at 10:00am in the Annex.
