I hope you’re all well on this cloudy Friday afternoon. This Sunday at the 10:00am worship service (on the lawn), we’ll turn to the book of Job as we consider the majesty of God’s creation and our understanding of it. You can find both this week’s passage and the other lectionary texts here.
Also, tomorrow morning’s CPC Work Day, will still take place from 9:00am to 12:00pm, but instead of working on the church grounds, we’ll be helping move stuff for Lynn Hudgeons. It will mostly be boxes, so please bring a hand carts and pickup trucks if you have them. Meet at the front of the church at 9:00am. If there is time after, we can always weed the front of the church! Hurrah for weeding. 🙂
Below you’ll find your weekly announcements and links.
Games Up Here
On Monday, June 21st from 7:00-8:00pm, we’re playing a game of METRO–the roll-and-write game based on the Tokyo subway. Join us on Zoom and in-person at the Annex (and then stay after for more in-person gaming).
Tea Time Tuesday
Join us this Tuesday, June 22nd from 2-4pm for Tea Time Tuesday on the lawn. This week’s featured iced tea will be Moroccan Mint.
Bible Study this Week
Join us for Bible study on Wednesday June 23rd from 5:00pm to 6:30pm, as we finish off the Old Testament with an OT summary. Even if you haven’t been a part of a single Bible study this past year, this will be a good overview of the Old Testament for all. We’ll meet in person in the Annex and on Zoom (links on the website).
Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Gather with the men of Lake City this Thursday, June 24th at 7:00am MST in the Baptist Fellowship Hall for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast.
Summer Book Club
Our summer book club selection–Living Faithfully in a Fragmented World by Jonathan Wilson–is now available for purchase in Darley Hall.
Because we will consume a lot of cookies this summer at Sunday fellowship (which is now in Darley) and Tea Time Tuesdays, we’re going to have a COOKIE DRIVE a couple times this summer. Please bake and drop off a batch or two of your favorite cookies in Darley this week. Zippered freezer bags are suggested for transport. Please indicate if there are nuts in the cookies or if the cookies are gluten free.
